Latest on UNILORIN 2017/2018 Admission List The Chairman of the University of Ilorin Admissions Committee, Prof. O. T. Mustapha, has appealed to candidates seeking admission into the University to remain calm as the management is working round the clock to address the delay in the release of the 2017/2018 admission list. Prof. Mustapha made the appeal last Wednesday (November 15, 2017) in an interview with Unilorin Bulletin following the anxiety caused by the delay in concluding the admission exercise. He explained that even though the University is through with the selection process, the release of the list is being delayed by the newly introduced Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), which makes the process a little cumbersome. JAMB Announces Dates for 2018 Examination. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board [JAMB], has fixed the date for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 2018. The JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, announced this during an ongoing stakeholders’ meeting, saying that the dates were chosen “taking into cognizance the dates of other public examinations.” Professor Is-haq Oloyede said the 2018 UTME examination would hold on March 9 to March 17, 2018. The board said the mock examination would hold between January 22 and 27, adding that the application fee remains N5000 while the cost of registration for foreign candidates has been slashed from over 100 dollars to 20 dollars. The board announced that sale of registration form will commence on November 22 and will run till January 22, 2018. Following the conclusion of the first batch post utme screening exercise for University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) prospective students, and the subsequent released of results, what is remaining now is the publication of the Unilorin cut off marks for candidates to know their standing on the 2017/2018 admissions. Senior Advocate of Nigeria Femi Falana has in a talk discussed issues plaguing the country, from religious fundamentalism to corruption. Falana described Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as a “Nigerian Trump” who dabbles in stomach infrastructure, “stealing all the money but giving people just some … tokenism.” He also expressed worry over the lack of candidates for the 2019 elections, saying: “It is either Buhari or Atiku, we are in trouble.” On religion, Falana expressed worry over the state of churches in the country, commenting that although Nigeria had “9 or 10” pastors on the Forbes’ richest list, Nigerians are getting poorer.
